We're not dead, really!

Anyway. XD Part two (end) of Psycho Knocker and part two of the rescanlation of Kaine are now available on IRC @ #sakura-crisis @ irc.irchighway.net :) Those of you wishing to (and being awesome enough) to come serve our releases may /msg Nagi-kun for direct links to new releases (but only if you're actually going to stick around :P And message me. With an actual message like "Hi, I'd like to serve blahblahblah." For all that is good and holy quit xdcc listing me >EE).

Here's to being gone for two months? XD

(Also, let us wish our dear old Crisis a belated happy birthday :))

Hey ya'll, sorry for taking so long to post anything, school is getting in the way of life (argh).

Anyway:

1) All emails regarding editing & translating have been replied to - if you didn't receive an email sometime in the past couple of weeks, I never received your email (or have otherwise misplaced it without responding... better chance I didn't get it). Feel free to poke back if you're still interested.

2) There was only one person (kou_chama) who submitted anything for the header 'contest', though I've had a few people say in comments say they sent one in - I never received anything if you did. If you sent one, or thought you did, please resend it - it's taken me this long to get up the energy to do anything, so we'll say the contest deadline has been extended to October 13th.

3) Just a note to current staff whom I haven't heard back from: Darling editors? If you're reading, can you please let me know how you're doing with your projects? It's fine if you need to take some extra time, are super busy, have comp problems, just don't want to do it or whatever, just let me know what's going on so I don't have to go chasing you all around with a stick and can put someone else on your project if need be. XD

4) As always, we're still looking for more editors and translators (especially translators. :P) Editor and Japanese translation tests can be found here, along with information.

Those of you wishing to participate in the header contest, you have about 12 hours left to submit something (I bumped the deadline to 8pm PST, as I will be er, working at 6.) All information should you need it can be found in this post.

Happy graphic-ing!

P.S - If you sent an email with an editor test within the last month and have not heard back from me yet, I'm sorry (school and preparations for school destroy me.) I'll be responding to the emails sitting in my inbox tonight if it kills me. ♥

Psycho Knocker part one and Mind Distance chapter 2 are now available for http download. Please head over to the 'ongoing' section for links.

And,

a 'contest'. I say 'contest' as in, there are no actual prizes (other than my gratitude) and a link to your website on here.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Create a header image for use on the site and forum. I'd like to add more themes to both, so people have a bit of a choice on how they want to view the site ^_~ (And I'm far too lazy to make a bunch and note: you do not have to do anything but make the image. All coding will be done by myself). So send some in, we'll have a vote and see which ones make the grade with the general community.

Rest of the info hereCollapse )

The deadline is September 1st at 18:00 (6 PM) Pacific. All entries will then be compiled and posted to the livejournal community for user voting (depending on how many entries we get, the poll may have to be split into two). Please note that at the moment, there is no 'top #' that will be chosen (meaning I'm not limiting it to the top 3 headers, it all just depends on how many entries we receive).

Until next time, have fun, ladies and gents!

Hot off the presses, ladies and gentlemen, we have releasesssss.

Drop by #sakura-crisis on irc.irchighway.net to grab Kaori Yuki's Psycho Knocker part 1 and Hashiba Rinta's Mind Distance chapter 2. (Those of you IRC impaired, you'll be able to get them from the site tomorrow.) [Edit: Thanks to my brother being made of awesome and seeding, you should now be able to grab them from Bittorrent too. Psycho Knocker pt 1 and Mind Distance ch 2. - If the links don't work, grab the links from the site.]

As there are very few people in the channel currently (and my connection is ass), those who wish to help serve our releases may PM Nagi-kun in the channel for a direct http link for faster getting and serving.

As it stands at the moment, we are currently working (mostly) on stuff we already had scans/translations for from before we died. As such, we are currently looking for scans of Boys Next Door in Chinese to complete the rescanlation, as well as scans for the rest of Mind Distance in Japanese (though I will be trying to get my hands on this pretty soon).

And what else, there was something else--

Oh yeah.

I'm currently in the process of uploading zips of completed works and completed volumes, so look out for those (most are up, actually, and linked, there's only a few more to go.)

...ANYWAY. Come. Play with us. We love you 8D

With any luck, there should be a release sometime this week :3

Now that I have your attention 8D By heading on over to the site, you'll notice there's a shiny new post with a few bits of information including:

Community stuff

  • There's a shiny new layout to (somewhat) match the site's new layout 8D.

  • Posting access has been reinstated for everyone, and all deleted journals have been cleared from the comm's memberlist. If you still cannot post, leaving the community and rejoining it should solve your problem.

  • Rules have been updated a bit, please check them out.

  • At some point I will be going through and tagging all of the old entries for easier finding of fanfics and such. I'll make a post with the list sometime afterwards

-I think that's it for now :D

Sort of. But at the very least, we're off to a good start in getting things done and with any luck at all we should be properly back with releases by August :)

We are still on the lookout for Japanese translators (and to a lesser extent, Chinese translators - though all of our Chinese raws at the moment are older Kaori Yuki stuff). Translators willing to work on pretty much anything we give you are a huge bonus (though naturally I won't (intentionally) assign you something that squicks you XD). Let me know if you're interested (comment here with some way to contact you or toss me an email @ kamioakira@gmail), please :) Translators should be able to push out at least one 35 page manga in a month. Check here for more info.

Just a note: I will be out of town the 18th-23rd (at least) so any emails sent during that time may not be responded to immediately. Depending on whether my friend's laptop survives that long, I may have a bit of internet access from our hotel and will check when I can.

Other stuff:

A few things will change regarding the way we release - new releases will only be available via bittorrent and IRC for the first 24 hours, then they will go up on http download on the site. Reasons for this include: having a few more seeders, having more people serving in the channel and saving the site from the massive bandwidth attack new releases get. (Hey, if you waited this long for something to be released, one more day isn't going to kill you.)

Community-wise: once the site is back up and operational, all members will once again be allowed to post to the community.

Well, the poll got enough response for me to go ahead and get this thing underway again :)

As it stands now, I probably will not be able to get the site fully back up until the end of July/beginning of August (Otakon and need to finish painting my house >>;;;), but if those who volunteered want to start working ASAP, we may even have some new releases then :)

More or less I'm willing to let you guys work on what you want to, but I would like to get some of the super old projects finished first, or finished enough to possibly drop. One-shots and doujinshi will definitely be considered for new projects, and new series, for now (because they really depend on how much time and such scanners, editors and translators have) will be on a case-by-case basis. Suggestions are more than welcome and remember - we are not a strictly yaoi or shoujo group. We scanlate what we like, so pretty much anything goes.

Er, anyway. XD The following people answered 'yes' to helping out, so will those of you listed please leave your email address (and AIM screenname if you have one, I like to be able to say hi once in a while :) - I can be reached at 'Rizumu ni Noruze' or 'lol hae') so I may get a big fat email of information out to you? Comments will be screened for your privacy. In said email I'll let you know what we have as far as scans and translations that can be worked on right away, and what you can expect.

dorkodile, yaoikitten, kasumi_sora, thearchpoet, yukihime9, syskogeo, lonely_spider & frazzled_niya.

Those of you who answered 'maybe' - You're more than welcome to help out 'part-time', so to speak. Meaning if we really need something done and the regular staff is unable to do it for some reason, or if you would really like to work on a chapter or scan something, the help would be greatly appreciated :) If you'd like to see what you can do soon, also please leave your email address in a comment :)

A gigantic thank you to all those who offered to help out ♥ Let's make this work~

EDIT: I've been asked to give a bit of a description of what each person's job would entail, so here you go.

Under the cut.Collapse )

I've been thinking about this for a while and honestly, I miss scanlating. I've been considering having S-C rise from the ashes for a while now, and I'd really like to see it back.

However, I cannot do it alone. I'd need translators, editors, scanners, etc. So, I'm posting this poll to see if there is any interest :D

If S-C comes back, it will be a lot more streamlined than before - none of this tons of unfinished projects being worked on at the same time silliness, simply a handful of projects and new ones added as old ones are completed. There are still a few manga S-C was working on that have not yet been picked up by other groups that I do have scans for (Mind Distance, Koi ni Nattara, the YnM doujinshi, some misc. B-Boy scans that were donated ages ago - I would have to check if those have been scanlated yet, etc). There's also the choice of a few of Kaori Yuki's one-shots from some of her tankoubon (which I have and can scan, but they are in Chinese). And of course, series can always be suggested for future reference.

As far as timing goes, editors, translators and scanners would be expected to push out one chapter/doujinshi/whatever a month (though more would certainly be welcome).

Er, anyway. Here's a poll. Have fun with it :3 If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)
